Joseph Andrew Sanders, 73, of Coeburn, VA  entered into rest on December 4, 2023 at his home.

Born in Wise County, VA, he was a son of the late Alonzo and Lillie Marie Spears Sanders. He worked at several Coal Prep plants over the years and retired from Moss 1.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and gardening.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Sabo; siblings, Everette Sanders, Jane Dotson, Rebecca Fessler and Nancy Nealon.

Surviving are:  his wife of 44 years, Patti Sanders of the home; son, Dalton (Amanda Manners) Sanders of Coeburn, VA; daughters, Erica (Michael Gibson) Hale of Walton, KY,   Emily (Steven) Westfall of Suffolk, VA, Pamela (Jeff) Shelton of Bristol, TN and Aubrey Wilson of Teague, TX; brother, Sam (Sharon) Sanders of Castlewood, VA; sisters, Jackie Sulfridge of Coeburn, VA, Sonia (Kyle) Rose of Clintwood, VA, Doris Campbell of Kingsport, TN and Susie Markham of Coeburn, VA; Grandchildren, Destin, Caleb, Andrew, Kaela, Jacob, Abigail, Neveah, William, Avery, Marley, Jackson, Lincoln, Austin and Desiree;  several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.
