Judy Hammonds, 68, of Coeburn entered into rest  on January 4, 2024 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.

Judy loved her family deeply.  She was always entertaining family for Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners plus all types of events throughout the years.  She had a strong will and was an independent person that gave so selfless to the ones she loved.  Most of all, Judy enjoyed providing for her kids and grandchildren.  She was very proud of each and every one of them for the people they have become.

With the health issues Judy had the last few years of her life, Judy always kept her faith in the Lord.  She stayed strong and never complained about her situation.  Judy was an inspiration to all that came to know her.

In addition to her mother, Judy was preceded in death by her lifelong companion Terry Funk; brothers Dale Turner, Eugene Turner, and Sammy Coleman; sister Gail Turner.

Surviving are her sons, Tony Edwards, Scott McCoy, Roy Edwards, Donald Edwards, and David Edwards; daughter Judith Evans; brothers Bobby Turner and Clifford Coleman; grandsons Issac McCoy, Cody Farmer, Austin Evans, and Brandon Edwards; granddaughters Abby Edwards, Isabella Edwards, Summer Edwards, and Emma Edwards; great grandson Seth Adams.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Mccoy Chapel Church.  Services will be conducted at 1:00 pm with Pastor Roger McCoy officiating.  Burial will follow in the McCoy cemetery.
