Lester Gene Cook, 68, passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Norton Community Hospital.

Lester enjoyed spending time with his family and friends playing music and going fishing. He loved his church and his church family. He cared deeply about his family and his "fur babies".

He was preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Elsie (Harvey) Cook; sister, Dorothy Nana Greear; brother, James S. Cook.

Lester is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol Cook of the home; sons, Kevin Cook, and wife Samantha of Coeburn, VA, Jamie Cook, and wife Debbie of Blountville, TN, Mark Cook of Coeburn, VA, Josh Cook, and wife Jme of Coeburn, VA; brother-in-law, Ernest Greear; God daughter, Bella Harvey; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; along with several other nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 19, 2022, beginning at 5:00pm at the Community Last Day Church. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00am on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the Community Last Day Church with Bro. David Dale officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Harvey Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
