Lloyd Sylvester Greear, 92, the last survivor of Robert and Sally Greear, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 13, 2008 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton, VA, where he had been a resident for the past two years.
He was a member and deacon of Flatwoods Freewill Baptist Church where he had attended for many years. He also sang tenor for the Travelers Quartett for many years. He was a retiree of VICC of Coeburn.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Viola Blevins Greear and son Dennis Lee Greear.
Surviving are his wife , Lillian Maude Greear; sons, Gilbert Greear and wife Vickie and Fred Greear and wife Gay, all of Coeburn; daughter, Ardna Richardson and husband Kenneth, Coeburn; daughter-in-law, Nancy Greear, wife of the late Dennis Greear of Gate City; four step children; thirteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and a host of friends and loved ones.

Visitation for Lloyd Greear will be held after 6:00 P.M. Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel and funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Bill Crawford officiating. Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the Greear Cemetery in Flatwood Community. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery at 1:00 P.M. Estes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
