Lois Easterling Stallard  "Dodo", 96, of Wise, VA, passed away peacefully of Natural causes on
September 2, 2023, in Johnson City, TN.

Born in Wise, VA on February 23, 1927, she was the daughter to the late Edgar and Minnie
Easterling.

Lois was a graduate of Coeburn High School, which laid the foundation for her successful and
fulfilling life. She valued education and instilled the importance of learning in her family. She
was a member of Wise Baptist Church, where she was the oldest member of the church until
her death. Her faith was an integral part of her life. She was an avid gardener and loved her
flowers. She enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels that would visit her window daily. She was
a remarkable woman who led a fulfilling life. She was known for her diverse skills and interests.
A  "Jack of all trades", actually a "Jill of all trades". She had many talents that were displayed
through her various jobs as a bookkeeper, cashier, teaching tailoring, owner of The Cover Shop (a
custom drapery shop) and co-owning Jackies Jeans with her beloved sister Helen. Lois even took on the role of a census taker. Her dedication and versatility were truly admirable. She loved
serving her community, she did this as a member of the PTA and sat on local, state, and national
boards She was very proud of her work with the PTA and was always a huge advocate of public
education. She was a member of the Fortnightly Club and the Coeburn Women's Club. Lois
loved traveling, visiting all 50 states and parts of Canada with two of her lifelong friends Cecil
Dingus and Frances Griffith.

In her personal life, Lois cherished her family deeply. Left to cherish her memory are her son,
Harold Stallard (Katherine) of Coeburn, VA; daughter, Patricia W. Gass (Bobby) of
Wise, VA; Daniel Brooks her son-in-law of Kingsport, TN. She was a loving grandmother to Jilda
Wingo Ramsay (Rob), Brandon Stallard (Misty), Eric Stallard (Sarah), Holly Allison-Parmer
(Jamie), Gabriel Parmer (Victoria), Gillian Parmer, Ivy Vaughn (Michael), Andrew Allison,
Beverly Brooks, Daniel Brooks Jr, Jessica Brooks-Powell, Audra Brook, Racheal Brooks. Lois
adored her great and great great grandchildren, Matthew Ramsay, Mallory Ramsay, McKenzie
Stallard, Riley Stallard, Wynne Stallard, Millie Stallard, Ruby Anne Stallard, Maly Stallard, Elli
Stallard, Brittanie Allison (sons Kenyon and Jensen East), Marlie Parmer, Zephyr Parmer,
Temperance Parmer, Allison Vaughn, Ava Vaughn, Adriana Allison, Kierra Allison, Sierra
Brooks, Morgan Gray (son: Atlas Gray), Hailey Gray, Andrew Gray (daughter: Blakelynn Gray),
Hannah Brooks (son Rylan), Alivia Sifuentes, Daniel Sifuentes, Aiden Brooks, Isiah Brooks,
Jordan Powell, Matthew Powell, Seanna Bradds, Amelie Bradds, Duncan Wheeler, Cayden
Peter, Arabella Peters, Liddy Brooks and Liam Brooks. Her last living sibling Helen Hamm, with
whom she shared a special bond, along with her lifelong childhood friend Eloise Couch.

Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry F. Stallard; daughter, Barbara
Stallard Allison-Brooks; great-granddaughters, Jocelyn Bradds and Abigail Peters; and
siblings, Ruby Garrett, Edgar A. Easterling, Harvey A. Easterling, William D. Easterling, and
Robert Easterling.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 12:00 to 1:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 p.m. at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. A private family burial will take place at Kiser Cemetery in Wise, VA. Chosen pallbearers are grandsons, nephews and friends.

Lois Dodo Stallard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be cherished.
