Martha Belle Scott, 90, of Ewing, VA/ Tazwell, TN, departed this life to dwell in her heavenly home Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was born December 25, 1935 in Keokee, VA to the late Orbin Bledsoe and Rebecka Lewis Bledsoe.
Martha was a hard working and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart. She was a faithful servant for the Lord and loved to sing and work in the church.
In addition to her parents, Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Scott, Sr.; daughter, Linda Ellen Cope; 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 great-grandchildren.
Martha is survived by her children, Clyde Scott, Jr (Christine) of Ewing, VA, Derrill Scott (Pam) of Franklin, GA, Robert Scott (Roma) of Tazwell, TN, and Peggy Rhodes of Big Stone Gap, VA.
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren of eleven, twenty-one great-grandchildren, eleven great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Corrnet of West VA, Rodin Anita of Washington, DC; a host of extended family and friends.
Visitation for Martha will be held Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Mountain View Full Gospel Church, 349 Calvary Rd, Rose Hill, VA from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. Funeral services will be held at 5:00pm with Rev. Robert Scott officiating. Eulogy will be read by Pastor Eric Scott and music provided by Christine Scott, Robin Scott, and the Scott family will sing Martha's favorite song "I see Jesus". Committal will follow after service in Powell Valley Cemetery in Dryden, VA, with comments and prayer by Rev. Travis Scott.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family would like a special thanks to Martha caretakers Roma Scott, and to the staff of Gentiva Hospice of Morristown; Loretta, Courtney, Rhiannon and all the other staff that has so kindly helped the family through this time.
