Dungannon, VA ~ Mary Magdalene Sanders Brickey, 91 passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport Tennessee.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Sanders and Martha Victoria Sanders; also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brickey; five sisters, Eura Prince, Ethel Spears, Cula Back, Cressia Keel and Elizabeth Mae Stansberry; four brothers, Arthur Ray Sanders, Jack Sanders, Alonzo Sanders and Hansel Sanders.
Survivors include one son, Michael L. Brickey Sr. and wife, Cora Peters Brickey, Dungannon; two sisters, Jean Laney and husband, Virgil, Hampton, VA and Lola Cooper, Germantown, MD; one brother, Bufford Sanders, Coeburn; grandson, Michael L. Brickey, Jr., Castlewood; granddaughters, Jeana L. Brickey Hall and husband, Dallas, Dungannon, Anna L. Brickey Luttrell and husband, Michael, Pounding Mill, and Rachael L. Gilmer and husband, Ashby Gilmer, III, Castlewood; great granddaughters, Ashley G. Vicars Skeen and husband, Michael, Castlewood, Amanda Hall, Wise, Scarlett A. Hall, Johnson City, TN and Margarette D. Brickey, Castlewood; great grandson, Zachary J. Luttrell, Pounding Mills, Turner Ashley Gilmer IV, Castlewood and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mary Magdalene Brickey will be held on Monday, December 26, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. L. Crawford and Rev. John Thompson officiating. Visitation will be held Monday after 6:00 P.M. until funeral time. Burial will be 11 AM Tuesday December 27, 2011 at Temple Hill Memorial Park. The Family will meet at the funeral home and leave in procession at 10:15 A.M. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers, Honorary Pallbearers will be Sammy Sanders, Larry Sanders, Billy Ray Sanders and Joseph B.
