St. Paul, VA ~ Mary Marlene (Brooks) Slemp, 80, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 13, 2023, at her residence in St. Paul, Virginia. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and the Lord came first in her life.

Mary was the daughter of the late, SV and Beulah (Corder) Brooks; she is also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Luther Slemp; sister, Glenna Stallard; brothers, Jack, and Jim Brooks.

Survivors include a son, Joseph Slemp, of Abingdon, VA; several nieces and nephews.

A private Entombment will be at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warriors Project or Alzheimer's Foundation in Mary's honor.

Arrangements are being handled by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave. NE, Coeburn, VA.
