Mary Belle Stanley Hughes – Coeburn, VA

Mary Belle Hughes, 90, Coeburn, VA, went to her heavenly home, Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, TN. She was born in Dickenson County, VA, on April 6, 1933, to the late Morgan Dewey and Martha Rose Stanley. She loved to work as a caretaker as a CNA in nursing homes. She touched many lives, always made sure they ate and were taken care of and was loved by all who knew her.

Along with her parents, Dewey and Martha, she is preceded in death by her sons, Randy Hughes, and Scotty Hughes; stepson, Billy Joe Hughes; grandchildren, Timmy and Billy Jr Hughes; brothers, James Carlos, Hershel, Dewey, Jr, and Darrel Stanley; sisters, Ava Honaker, Mae Marshall, and Josie Kennedy.

She leaves behind to cherish her love and memories, son, Ricky Hughes (Tammie) of St. Paul, VA; daughter-in-law, Tara Hughes; grandchildren, Heather Laney (Dan), Mindy Hughes (Nick), Heath Hughes (Kayla), Hannah Hughes, Randy Hughes, Ashley Mills (Matthew), and Rendy Young; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Hailey Laney, Eli and Karlee Gruber-Basenback, Lincoln Hughes, and Anya and Zaria Mills; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Family will receive friends Friday, June 30, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 1 p.m. in Estes Funeral Home Chapel with graveside services following in Maple Grove Cemetery, Sandy Ridge, Coeburn, VA.
