Coeburn, VA

Maxie Louise Meade, 98, of Coeburn, VA,  left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on December 1, 2023 while surrounded by her family. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Meade's Chapel Church.  She was a devout Christian who loved her family and community.

Maxie was preceded in death by her parents, William McKinley McCoy and Mary McCoy Chandler; her husband, Walton Meade; son, Eugene Meade; daughter, Charlotte Salyer; brothers, Moses McCoy and Richard McCoy.

Surviving are her children, Kenneth F. (Nancy) Meade, Jack (Katie) Meade, James (Kathy) Meade and  Edward (Regina) Meade; Several grandchildren,  great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jack Meade and Evangelist James Meade officiating, Interment will be Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Noon at Edwards Cemetery. Those wishing to travel in procession to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:30 AM.

Pallbearers will be Travis Meade, Chris Meade, Ethan Shelton, Eli Shelton, Gordon Shelton, Kevan Kukulka and Josh Sturgill.
