Melissa Michelle Helton, 50, of Butler, TN passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2023  in London, KY. Born in Pikeville, KY, she was a daughter of the late Payne Bentley, Jr and Roberta Kiser Bentley.

In addition to her parents, Melissa is preceded in death by her brother, Otho Dewayne Bentley.

Melissa is survived by her significant other, Harlin Farmer of the home; sons, Rufus Hammond of Abingdon, VA, John (Kimberly Charles) Hammond of Lebanon, VA, and William Paul Bentley of KY; daughter, Samantha (Joshua Calhoun) Hammond of St. Paul, VA; sister, Mona Golden; grandchildren, Asuna Calhoun, Aria Calhoun, Aaliyah Calhoun, Adeline Calhoun, Brylee Hammond, Gracie Hammond,  Brooklyn Hurt and Zaylynn Hurt.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Mike Killion officiating. Graveside service will follow in Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA.
