Coeburn, VA ~Morrell Slemp, 75 died Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton Virginia.
Hewas a lifelong resident of the Crab Orchard Section of Coeburn.
He was the son of the late Luther and Leafie Ann Slemp, also preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Edna Hollyfield Slemp; sister Nell Yates.
Survivors include Daughter, Sondra Oakley and husband, Jim, Knoxville, TN; Son, David Slemp and wife Vickie, Coeburn; Sister, Nova Lawson , Wise; Brothers, C. B. Slemp , Franklin, TN, Ray Slemp and Jimmy Slemp both of Coeburn and Joseph Slemp, St. Paul; Three Granddaughters, Mahala Slemp, Bethany Ward and Stephany Ward;Four Grandsons, Michael Shelton, Matthew Slemp, Zachary Osborne and Brian Shelton; Great-Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Shelton; Great-Grandson, Clay Shelton; One Uncle, Haburn Slemp and Aunt, Edna Adkins; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation for Morrell Slemp will be held after 6 PM Friday Dec.1, 2006, at Estes Funeral Home Chapel and Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM. with Rev. Mitchell Elliott, Rev. Palmer Blevins and Rev. Tom Slemp officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Acres Memorial Gardens in Coeburn, VA on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at 11 AM. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home,114 High Ave. NE, Coeburn, VA.
