Morristown, TN, formerly of Coeburn, VA
Norma Arrington Buchanan, 97, entered into rest on August 10, 2022, at Dewitt Assisted
Living in Morristown, TN. She was born, September 13, 1924, to the late Floyd M. and
Lucretia Yates Arrington.
Norma was married to Harry W. Buchanan for 74 years. They owned and operated
Buchanan Furniture Company in Coeburn, VA for 38 years until their retirement. She
loved cooking, gardening, along with fishing on Cherokee lake. Norma was a loving
wife, mother, and grandmother and will be cherished in the hearts of those she leaves
behind.
Along with her parents, Norma is preceded in death by her sisters, Bonnie, Margaret,
Beulah, Maude, Willie, Carrie, Stella, Polly, and Maxie.
She is survived by her husband, Harry W. Buchanan; daughter, Susan P. Holt of Chuckey,
TN; son, Danny S. Buchanan of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, George Brett
Powers of Bean Station, TN, Allison Walker of Knoxville, TN, and Aaron Buchanan of
Greensboro, NC; one great-grandchild, Zoe Walker of Knoxville, TN.
All services for Norma will be private. She will be laid to rest in Laurel Grove Cemetery
in Norton, VA.
