Coeburn, VA ~ Norman Ezell "Ninnie" Thomas, 71 died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport Tennessee.
He was born Nov. 27, 1937 in Dante, VA and moved to Coeburn at age 19.
He preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Lewis Thomasand Dorothy Mayella Thomas Hill, his daughter, Norma Thomas; sisters, Jeraldine Freeman and Frances Thomas; brothers, Henry Dean Thomas and Harry Lee Thomas; step-sister, Dorothy Gray; a niece and a nephew.
Survivors include two sisters, JoeAnn Foster, (Wallace), Hampton, VA and Janie Barron, Manhattan, NY; two brothers, Melvin Thomas, Manhattan, NY and Garland Thomas, Bronx, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral services for Norman E. Thomas will be held on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 2:00 PM in Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.Herbert Scottofficiating. Burial will follow at Miller's Temple in Carbo, VA. Visitation will be held Thursday after 6:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Inc., Coeburn, VA. Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave. NE, Coeburn, VA is in charge of arrangements.
