Coeburn, VA ~ Ralph Alderson McReynolds, 85 went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, May 11, 2007.
Ralph was of the Methodist belief and attended Tacoma United Methodist Church. Also a member of UMWA and after retiring from the Sunrise Coal Mine he became an entrepreneur. When not on "the hill" Ralph enjoyed being with his family and playing cards.
He was the son of the late Emory Elbert and Callie America Trent McReynolds. Also preceeded in death by his wife of 65 years, who he truly missed, Clara Sulfridge McReynolds, went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2006; son Kenneth McReynolds; granddaughter Kerri Diann McReynolds and precious great-grandson "Little" Ricky Kekelis; sister, Carrie Buchanan; brothers, Grover, Emory Jr. and Jim McReynolds.
Survivors include Two Sons, Frank W. McReynolds and wife, Frances and Lacey McReynolds and wife, Phyllis all of Coeburn; Sister, Buelah Kennedy, Coeburn; Daughter-in-law Edith Hall McReynolds Long and husband Richard, (Kingsport, TN). Grandchildren:Regina McReynolds (Cornell, IL), Lisa McReynolds Lane and Husband Orbin Lenord "Dog"(Cookeville, TN).Bambi McReynolds Phillips and Husband David (Pikeville, KY), Janie McReynolds (Coeburn, VA), Angelia McReynolds (Normal IL), Ralph "Dale" and wife Wendy Greer McReynolds (Kingsport, TN), Lacey Earl McReynolds Jr., Stephanie and Alyssa Jade (Coeburn, VA), and Sherry Long Messier and husband John (Kingsport, TN). Great Grandchildren:Amanda Nikeisha-Ann Bowling, Sarah Lee Ann Lane, Kristan Donnie Bowling, Ryan Andrew Wayne Kekelis, Kenneth (Kenny) Darrell Wayne McReynolds, Mekaila Dale McReynolds, Megan Suzanne McReynolds, and Kenneth "Blake" McReynolds; Special loved ones Ralph adored:Skyler and Thomas Salyers, Grant and Santana Yeary, Destany Long, Brooke Messier, Rev. Martin and Donna Riley, Richard and Judy Hughes, Donnie and Faye Salyers, Hank Roberts, Doug Kerns' family, Pastor David and Linda Gilbert, generations of nieces and nephews, a gallery of church family.
Funeral service will be held 12:00 Noon Monday, May 14, 2007 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel With Rev. David Gilbert and Orbin Lenord "Dog" Lane II officiating. Burial will follow at Bond Memorial Cemetery in Coeburn. Visitation will be held after 6 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave. NE, Coeburn, VA.
