Coeburn, VA ~ Richard W. Barker, 78, died Thursday, December 25, 2003 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
Mr. Barker was a retired dockworker of Gateway Transportation and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Luther and Mollie Cook Barker; Brothers, Jessie Barker, Sidney Barker and Dorsie Barker; Sisters, Annie Salyers, Oma Bumgardner, Marie Massey and Vada Puckett.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Burton Barker; Sons, Allen Richard Barker, David Barker and Larry Barker all of Wabash, IN; Daughter, Dinah Fay Simpson, Wabash, IN; Sister, Dolly Moore, Coeburn; 5 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Richard W. Barker will be held Monday, Dec. 29, 2003 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery in Norton. Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home on Sunday after 6 P.M.
