Ricky Albert Duty – Coeburn, VA

Ricky Albert Duty, 62, Coeburn, VA went to be with the Lord, on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN surrounded by his loving family.

Ricky was born in Dante, VA on October 12, 1962, and was the son of the late John Nelson and Sally Estalee (Mullins) Duty.

In addition to his parents, his sister, Dolly Earsie Bowen and brothers, Swin Samuel Lee Duty and Gerald Anthony Duty preceded him in death.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Christopher Duty and wife, Amber, and Cassie (Duty) and husband, Nathan Counts; grandchildren, Andrew, Chloe, Olivia, Sophia, Debra Ann, Bailee, and Emma Shea; brothers, Raymond Cephus Duty, Dante, VA, Ed "Eddie" Willie (Ernastine) Duty, Mt. Airy, NC, Marcus Andrew Duty, Coeburn, VA; sisters, Margaret Virginia Harvey, St. Paul, VA, Ruby Faye Fender, NC, Evelyn Charlene Edwards, NC, Martha Hill, Coeburn, VA, and  Kay Hayes, Odem, TX; special friend, Molly Hamilton; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2025, at Estes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., in the chapel of Estes Funeral Home with Jane Crawford officiating. A Eulogy will be given by his brother, Eddie Duty.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Walker McCoy Cemetery on Sandy Ridge, St. Paul, VA. Chris Duty, Andrew Sexton, Nathan Counts, Cephus Duty, Andy Duty, Marty Shouse, and Matthew Counts will serve as pallbearers.

Family and friends are asked to meet at Estes Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m., Saturday to go in procession to the graveside service.
