Ronald Douglas Jenkins, 74, of Coeburn, Virginia, entered into eternal rest on February 6, 2025 at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Coeburn, VA, he was a son of the late Abe and Ann Jenkins and was an Elder at Coeburn Presbyterian Church for nearly 5 decades. He retired from Verizon after 29 years of service and was known as Papaw to his work family and was known to many as Poppy.

In addition to his parents, he was  preceded in death by a son, Jon Jenkins; a grandson, Nathaniel Jenkins; brothers, Terry Jenkins and Tommy Jenkins; and brother-in-law,  Dale Couch.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nancy Couch Jenkins of the home; children, Stephen (Rachel) Jenkins and Rachel K. Jenkins; brother, Mark Jenkins; grandchildren, Austin (Whitney) Jenkins, Tara (Josh) Charles, and Andy Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Judy Jenkins and Becky Couch; brothers -in-law, Allen (Margaret) Couch and Jimmy (Deborah) Couch; nieces and nephews, Gabrielle (Shane) Buchanan, Ginger (Lance) Click, Eric Jenkins, Molly Jenkins, Wesley (Amanda) Couch, Suzanne (John) Viselli, Laura (Ethan) Viers, Adam Couch and Sarah Grace Couch; several great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be 3:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Coeburn Presbyterian Church with the funeral service to follow at 5:00 PM with Elders Kirby Holbrook and BL Peters officiating.  Burial will be  11:00 AM Monday, February 10, 2025 at Temple Hills Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA.

Pallbearers will be Adam Couch, Josh Charles, Jimmy Ray Slemp, Eric Jenkins, Tim Clay and Chris Clay.
