Ruby Tackett Potter, widow of James Marvin Potter, age 77, of Corbin, formerly of Jenkins, Kentucky and Coeburn, Virginia passed away Friday July 14, 2017 at the Baptist Health Center in Corbin.
She was born on June 17, 1940 in Pike County Kentucky to the late McKinley and Maggie Greer Tackett.
She was a retired nurse and a member of the Trinity Life Church in Coeburn, Virginia. Ruby truly loved spending time with her friends and family and also her career as a nurse. Since her retirement, one of her greatest joys was the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ruby leaves behind to mourn her passing one son James Potter II, three daughters Jorita (John) Addington, Tonya (Daniel) Chang and Cora (Sean) Keenan, five grandchildren Jeramiah (Ambria) Addington, Nicole Addington (Kris) Vanover, Uriah (Whitney) Addington, Sullivan Keenan and Murphy Keenan, seven great grandchildren, Michael Blake Vanover, Meadow Addington, Zachary Vanover, John Addington, Zane Vanover and Lincoln Addington, brothers Clayton, Roy, Gary, Ernie and Clark Tackett, sisters Marlene Hunt and Geraldine Harlan.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two sons Ricky and Nicky Potter.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11AM Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, Virgina with Pastor McCarroll officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be conducted at 2PM Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Michigan Memorial Gardens in Flat Rock, Michigan.
