Coeburn, VA ~ElicRussell Bevins, 91 died Monday,July 9, 2007 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton Virginia.
Hewas retired employee of B&H Explosives.
He was a member of Davis Chapel Church of Coeburn, VA, and a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and recipient of the Purple Heart.
Russell was born, March 25, 1916 and was the son of the late LeeBevins and Polly Russell Bevins. Also preceeded in death by two brothers, Nebraska Bevins and Harmon Bevins; seven sisters, Nora Rose, Callie Green, Mae Bevins, Lilly Jewell, Kate Riner, Laura Stallard and Evelyn McCoy.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mareen Davis Bevins; one sister Ruth Lane, Pound, VA; special niece, Louella Payne, Norton; special nephew, Kenneth Rose, Wise; and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Powers, Clifford Bevins and Fletcher Strouth officiating. Burial will be at Hutchinson Cemetery, Duncan Gap Road in Wise, VA. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home after 6:00 P.M. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave. NE, Coeburn, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Davis Chapel Church, Lyons Fork Road, Coeburn, VA 24230.
