Russell Gene Hartsock went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 3, 2022, at his home in Dungannon, VA. He was born April 8, 1930, to the late Benjamin and Martha (Mann) Hartsock in Dungannon, Virginia.
Russell was an avid fisherman and had a passion for fishing, being on the river, and to be outdoors. He also loved to study his bible and took many notes on his studies. He was a member of the Dungannon First Baptist Church in Dungannon, VA. He loved his family and his church family, and will be missed by all of those who new him.
In addition to his parents, Russell is preceded in death by his siblings, Mattie Beverly, Vendetta Davis, Claude Hartsock, and Robert Hartsock.
Russell leaves behind his son, Roger Hartsock of Dungannon, VA; two daughters, Sherry Jamerson and Tammy Moore both of Lynchburg, VA; his grandsons, Dustin Hartsock, Patrick Hartsock, Dakota Moore, and TJ Moore; his granddaughters, Kristie Hartsock, Leslie Jamerson, and Savanna Jamerson; great-grandsons, Dakota Hartsock, and Ashon Hamalainen; great-granddaughters, Scarlet Rose Hartsock, Zoey Hamalainen, and Melah Rose Hartsock; three special nieces, Jackie Taylor, Karen Hartsock, and Robin Hawington, and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 11:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Dungannon First Baptist Church in Dungannon, VA (18741 Veterans Memorial Highway Dungannon, VA 24245). Funeral services will follow at 12:00p.m. with Pastor Larry Beavers officiating. Burial will follow in Ramsey Cemetery in Dungannon, VA.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
