Shirley Ilene Buchanan Blevins, 75, entered into rest Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She was born August 7, 1950, in Coeburn, VA to the late Grover and Bernice Odle Buchanan. She was a graduate of Coeburn, VA.

A wife, mother, and Nanny to her loving family, whom she loved with all her heart. She worked as a beautician in the Gate City and Kingsport area for many years. Shirley had a passion cooking for her family, gardening, and working with her indoor plants.

In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her siblings, Don, Willard, Ralph Buchanan, and Ruth Nestor.

Left to cherish her love and memories, her husband, Joseph "Jody" Blevins of the home; sons, Todd Gillenwater of Nickelsville, VA, and Jason (Brandy) Gillenwater of Coeburn, VA; grandchildren, Mariah (Caleb) Gillenwater-Yarosh, Hunter Gillenwater, Ada Gillenwater, Trevor Gillenwater, and Brynna (Trenton) Robinson; brother, Hershel Buchanan of Coeburn, VA; sister, Joyce King of Coeburn, VA; sister-in-law, Eve Buchanan of Ohio; her beloved pet, Teddy; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA, Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to time of service.
