Obituary

Tiffany Jill Ricketts, affectionately known by many as "Smurf," was born on October 27, 1983. She entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 19, 2026.

Jill was a woman of many interests and a vibrant spirit. She had a keen eye for treasures at yard sales, a creative gift for crafting, and a lifelong love of clothes. She will be remembered for her warmth, her personality, and the way she made ordinary moments feel special.

Jill is survived by her husband of 14 years, Jason Ricketts; her mother, Carolyn Bates; and her children, Morgan (Drew) Maine, Jordan Gray, Logan (Skylor) Gray, Ryder Counts, Jakob Ricketts, and Kolton Ricketts, all of Coeburn, Virginia; and her stepdaughter, Haley Ricketts of Wise, Virginia. She was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her granddaughter, Embreigh, who was to call her "Nonna."

She also leaves behind her siblings, Hunter (Bridgette) Bates and Jessica (Jason) Fuller; nieces, Brie (Shawn) Johnson and Kaitland (Matt) Bates; nephews, Jaxon and Chase Fuller; a great-niece, Ella; and a great-nephew, Cooper.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and by her sweet daddy, Cecil Randy Bates.

Jill will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

All services will be private and she will be laid to rest at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA.
