Trudy Evans McCarty of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at the age of 88. Trudy was born on November 20, 1935, in St Paul (Sandy Ridge), Virginia, to the late Rachel and Ora Evans. She was the youngest of 12 children and is survived by her daughter, Susette (Hugh) Kilgore, daughter-in-law Diane (Robbie) McCarty Rush, and good friend Tom Stec. Trudy was a devoted wife to her late husband, James (Jim), and a loving mother to her son, Scott, who preceded her in death.

Trudy will be remembered for her unwavering faith and dedication to her Lord. She found immense joy in sharing her faith with others and was passionate about bringing  friends to church. She enjoyed working in her yard and sharing plants from her garden with her neighbors and offering landscaping advice. Trudy loved to decorate a home. She and Jim lived in over 40 houses during their married life. As soon as a house was just the way she wanted it, they would get the itch to sell and buy a new home.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith to be cherished by her grandsons, Benjamin (Mallory) Kilgore, Jonathan (Michaela) Kilgore, Zachary Kilgore, and Nathaniel (Millie) Kilgore and granddaughters Mallory McCarty and Madison McCarty. Trudy was especially proud of her great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Henry, Fletcher and  Elihugh (Eli). She leaves behind many much loved nieces, nephews. and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service to honor and  celebrate Trudy's life on Saturday, April 27, at 11:00am at Edwards Cemetery on Sandy Ridge.
