Coeburn, VA ~Unita Garnette Salyers Odle, 77 passed away Friday, September 11, 2009 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton Virginia.
She graduated from Coeburn High School and attended Radford University afterwards, she taught school at Glade Springs, VA and Coeburn, VA for 44 years. She attended First Baptist Church in Coeburn and was very active in school events.
She was preceded in death by one son Charles Wesley Odle; brother, Denny Salyer and Burl Hue Salyer.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Charles William "Bill" Odle, Coeburn; one son, Mark Odle, Coeburn; one daughter-in-law, Joan Odle, Dungannon; step-grandchildren, Scottie Hughes and Jessica Nickels both of Dungannon; grandson, Ivan Sexton, Coeburn; granddaughter, Ashley Cochran, Russell County VA; aunt, Wilma Large, Coeburn; lifelong friends, Elsie and Roy Kern; 2 great grandsons, 3 great granddaughters, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Unita Odle will be held Monday, Sept. 14, 2009 after 6:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel and funeral services will be held at 8:00 P.M. with Rev. R.J. Rose officiating. Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009at Greenwood Acres Memorial Gardens. The family will meet at the cemetery prior to burial. Estes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
