Coeburn, VA ~ Von Paul Grizzle, 93, died Saturday, March 10, 2001 at St. Mary's Hospital in Norton, Virginia.
Mr. Grizzle was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired coal miner from Clinchfield Coal Co. and a member of U.M.W.A. Local # 1070.
He loved his family, God and bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his wife Sophia Bradley Grizzle, his parents, J. P. and Mary Elizabeth Hayes Grizzle; 2 sisters, Ida Grizzle McCoy & Myrtle Grizzle Shiflett; 3 brothers Richard Grizzle, Andrew Grizzle & Harlen Grizzle.
Survivors include 3 sons, Von Paul Grizzle, Jr., Parrottsville, TN, Andrew Samuel Grizzle, Radcliff, KY & Joe Cecil, Wise, VA; 2 daughters, Mary Bail, West Unity, OH & Bonnie Fields, Coeburn, VA; 18 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren and several nieces & several nephews.
Funeral services for Von Paul Grizzle will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leon Lawson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood.Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home on Monday and Tuesday after 6:00 P.M.
