Wendell Lyle Ward, 64, of Sandy Ridge Community, entered into rest Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Norton Community Hospital. He was born November 25, 1957, to the late Hasting and Ruby Ward in Norton, VA. He enjoyed life and his gospel and bluegrass music. He loved to fish and hunt. He worked as a truck driver for the coal industry and loved working with coal trucks.

Along with his parents, Wendell was preceded in death by his siblings, David, Anthony, Robert and Renee.

Wendell is survived by his brother, Harlan Ward, and wife Lois of St. Paul, VA; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2022, at Temple Hill Mausoleum in Castlewood, VA, with Pastor Stacy Vanover officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at Temple Hill Mausoleum by 1:45 p.m.
