Appalachia, VA ~ William Franklin McCorkel Sr., 59, died Monday, June 2, 2003 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Henry and Edna Mae Godwin McCorkel; 2 sons, James C. McCorkel & William F. McCorkel, Jr.; 2 sisters,Shirley Godwin & Edna Roddenberry;granddaughter,Audreonia Deel.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Lynn McCorkel; 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Billie Lynn & Robert Deel, Coeburn, Gwen & Melvin Peterson, Westville, FL and Kandice & Dan Schorb, St. Petersburg, FL; a sister, Mabel Graham, Live Oak, FL; 6 brothers, Tim McCorkel and Donald McCorkel both of Dothan, AL, Bobby McCorkel and Jeff McCorkel both of Odessa, FL, Ronald McCorkel and George E. McCorkel both of Largo, FL; 5 Grandchildren, several nephews and several nieces.

A memorial service for William Franklin McCorkel, Sr. will be held Friday, June 6, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Nunley officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service.
