William Joseph "Bill" Mutter, 63 of Coeburn, VA entered into rest Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at his residence after a lengthy illness with his loving family by his side.

Born in Norton, VA, he was a son of the late Bueford Carson Mutter and Violet Estelle (Turner) Mutter and was a surface coal mining mechanic.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Edward Mutter; mother in law, Charlene Ruth Buchanan; brothers in law, Steve Patton and Herbert Hale.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Deana Mefferd Mutter of Coeburn, VA; daughter, Autumn (Scott) Miller of Wise, VA; son, William Mutter, Jr. of Coeburn, VA; grandsons, Zack (Hannah) Miller and Elijah Miller of Wise, VA; granddaughter, Brooklyn Miller of Wise, VA; great grandson, Maverick Miller of Wise, VA; sisters, Mildred Hale of Coeburn, VA and Rita (Bob) Finch of Coeburn, VA; several nieces and nephews; sister in law, Christine Patton of Coeburn, VA.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM- 7:00 PM Monday, July 29, 2024 at Estes Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at  7:00 PM with Pastor Glen Slemp officiating.  Committal service will be at noon on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 11:30 Tuesday for procession to the cemetery.
